By reason of the multitude of oppressions (מֵרֹב עֲשׁוּקִים, me-rov ashuqim)—Rov (רֹב) means 'abundance' or 'multitude'; osheq (עֹשֶׁק) denotes 'oppression' or 'extortion.'
