(Josephus' Antiquities, Book 2, Chapter 15, 2) Josephus states the Hebrews left Egypt 215 years after Jacob moved there. His statement (along with similar statements in the Septuagint and the Samaritan Pentateuch) often causes confusion but simply reflects the 215-year period of time between when Jacob went down to Egypt (in the second year of the seven-year famine) and the Exodus.

From Heshbon to Jair
While Israel lived in Heshbon and its villages, and in Aroer and its villages, and in all the cities that are on the banks of the Arnon, three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time? (NUM 21:25) "Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo and Beon, the land which the LORD conquered before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock."
