Paul concedes the point factually—Well; because of unbelief they were broken off (tē apistia exeklasthēsan, τῇ ἀπιστίᾳ ἐξεκλάσθησαν). The cause of their breaking off was unbelief (apistia, ἀπιστία), not divine caprice.
