Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed (וְחָפְרָה הַלְּבָנָה וּבוֹשָׁה הַחַמָּה)—The verbs chaphar (be ashamed, abashed) and bush (be ashamed, embarrassed) personify celestial bodies experiencing humiliation.
