And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness—Ton achreion doulon ekbalete eis to skotos to exōteron (τὸν ἀχρεῖον δοῦλον ἐκβάλετε εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον): 'the useless slave, cast out into the outer darkness.' Achreios (ἀχρεῖος) means unprofitable/useless—the servant produced nothing, making him worthless to the master's enterprise.
