(ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, Τί γὰρ ἐποίησεν κακόν; ho de Pilatos elegen autois, Ti gar epoiēsen kakon?)—Pilate's question uses τί (ti, 'what?') seeking specific charges, and κακόν (kakon, 'evil') asking for actual wrongdoing.
