I will cleanse them from all their iniquity (וְטִהַרְתִּים מִכָּל־עֲוֺנָם, vetihartim mikol-avonam)—The priestly cleansing verb taher (used for ritual purification) applies to moral guilt (avon, iniquity/guilt). God acts as both Judge and Priest, cleansing what He condemned.
