Glory departed like bird: 'As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.' The כָּבוֹד (kavod, glory)—honor, splendor, prosperity—flies away כָּעוֹף (ka'of, like bird), taking מִלֵּדָה וּמִבֶּטֶן וּמֵהֵרָיוֹן (milledah umibeten umeheryaon, from birth and from womb and from conception).
