Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens (שָׂרֵי מִסִּים לְמַעַן עַנֹּתוֹ בְּסִבְלֹתָם, sarei missim lema'an anoto besivlotam)—Taskmasters (שָׂרֵי מִסִּים, sarei missim, "forced labor officials") implemented slave labor.
