Cleanse first that which is within the cup (καθάρισον πρῶτον τὸ ἐντὸς τοῦ ποτηρίου)—Jesus shifts from metaphor (v. 25) to direct command. The word "first" (πρῶτον) establishes priority: internal transformation precedes external conformity.
