And there was one named Barabbas (ἦν δὲ ὁ λεγόμενος Βαραββᾶς, ēn de ho legomenos Barabbas)—The name Βαραββᾶς (Barabbas) is Aramaic: בַּר־אַבָּא (bar-abba), 'son of the father.'
