Drowning in despair: "Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off." The Hebrew tsafu-mayim al-roshi amarti nigzarti (צָפוּ־מַיִם עַל־רֹאשִׁי אָמַרְתִּי נִגְזָרְתִּי) continues the pit imagery. Tsafu (צָפוּ) means to overflow, flood, or cover.
