But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. The glorious contrast! "But Jerusalem which is above" (hē de anō Ierousalēm, ἡ δὲ ἄνω Ἰερουσαλήμ)—the Jerusalem above, heavenly Jerusalem. This corresponds to Sarah, the free woman.
