Biography

The younger twin son of Isaac, Jacob obtained Esau's birthright and stole his blessing through deception. Fleeing his brother's anger, Jacob encountered God at Bethel and later wrestled with God, receiving the name Israel. He fathered twelve sons who became the twelve tribes of Israel.
