Then Judas, which betrayed him (ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν, apokritheis de Ioudas ho paradidous auton)—Matthew's editorial addition 'which betrayed him' underscores the horror: Judas asks while already having made arrangements with the chief priests (v. 14-16).
