Chapter 3 shifts to a singular voice: "I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath" (ani ha-gever raah oni be-shevet avrato, אֲנִי הַגֶּבֶר רָאָה עֳנִי בְּשֵׁבֶט עֶבְרָתוֹ).
