And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries—the Hebrew verbs va'hafotzti (וַהֲפִצוֹתִי, "I will scatter") and vehezairotiykha (וְהֵזֵרוֹתִיךְ, "I will disperse") describe violent expulsion, like seed thrown across a field.
