Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. This psalm of thanksgiving opens with emphatic repetition. The doubled "unto thee... do we give thanks" (hodinu... hodinu, הוֹדִינוּ... הוֹדִינוּ) intensifies the expression of gratitude.
