For thy mercy is great above the heavens (כִּי־גָדוֹל מֵעַל־שָׁמַיִם חַסְדֶּךָ, ki-gadol me'al shamayim chasdekha)—God's chesed (covenant love, loyal kindness) exceeds the highest heavens. Me'al (above, beyond) suggests immeasurable scope.
