After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. The phrase εἰδὼς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι ἤδη πάντα τετέλεσται (eidōs ho Iēsous hoti ēdē panta tetelestai, 'Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished') reveals Christ's sovereign awareness.
