Commentary on James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. To him who knows the good (kalon, καλόν) to do and does not do it, it is sin. Omission is culpable; knowledge increases responsibility.Reformed ethics affirm sins of omission. James ties the planning discourse to obedience: ignoring known good, whether generosity or justice, is sin.
