For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Paul summarizes law's intent. "For all the law is fulfilled" (ho gar pas nomos en heni logō peplērōtai, ὁ γὰρ πᾶς νόμος ἐν ἑνὶ λόγῳ πεπλήρωται)—the entire law is summed up, completed, fulfilled in one statement. Perfect tense indicates permanent state. "Even in this" (en tō)—in this word/statement.
