Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof (טוֹב אַחֲרִית דָּבָר מֵרֵאשִׁיתוֹ, tov acharit davar me'reshito)—The 'end' (acharit) of a matter proves its true value more than its promising 'beginning' (reshito).
