Arnon in the Bible

“and encamped on the other side of the Arnon”

“Vaheb in Suphah, the valleys of the Arnon,,Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,,  עַל־כֵּן יֵאָמַר בְּסֵפֶר מִלְחֲמֹת יְהוָה אֶת־וָהֵב בְּסוּפָה וְאֶת־הַנְּחָלִים אַרְנוֹן׃ ‬,wherefore it is said in the book of the Wars of the LORD: Vaheb in Suphah, And the valleys of Arnon,,διὰ τοῦτο λέγεται ἐν βιβλίῳ πόλεμος τοῦ κυρίου τὴν ζωοβ ἐφλόγισεν καὶ τοὺς χειμάρρους αρνων,Therefore it is said in a book, A war of the Lord has set on fire Zoob, and the brooks of Arnon.,על כן יאמר בספר מלחמות יהוה את והב בסופה ואת הנחלים ארנן,Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,עַל כֵּן יִתְאַמַר בְּסִפְרָא קְרָבִין דַעֲבַד יְיָ עַל יַמָא דְסוּף וּגְבוּרָן דְעַל נַחֲלֵי אַרְנוֹן ,Wherefore it is said in the Book of the Wars, That which the Lord did by the Sea of Suph, and the great deeds which (He wrought) by the torrents of Arnon,”

“and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok”

“who had fought against the former king of Moab”

“a flame from the city of Sihon. It has devoured Ar of Moab”
