Notes

START:*HYPOTHESIS: Israel began their calendar year in the spring (Nisan) and Judah began their calendar year in the fall (Tishrei). See dataset notes for more information. Thiele considers the "twelfth year of Ahaz" in 2KI 17:1 to be a late addition to the text and a miscalculation on the part of the editor(s) of that chapter since it is impossible to reconcile with other synchronisms of related kings. [Shulman date p83] [Ussher date p79] END:*HYPOTHESIS: Israel's "all calendar years" approach means that Scipture records one year more than the "total duration" used in this dataset. See dataset notes for more information. [Shulman date p83] [Ussher date p80]
