Moab is my washpot (מוֹאָב סִיר רַחְצִי, Mo'av sir rachitzi)—sir (pot, basin) used for washing. Moab, Israel's perpetual enemy east of the Dead Sea, is reduced to servant status—a mere washbasin for God's feet.
