Passed through the midst of the sea (וַיַּעַבְרוּ בְּתוֹךְ־הַיָּם, vaya'avru b'tokh ha-yam)—The verb avar (to cross over, pass through) is the same root as Hebrew (עִבְרִי, 'Ivri, "one who crosses over").
