And I seek not mine own glory—Jesus disclaims self-seeking motives. "I seek" (ζητῶ/zētō) in the negative (οὐ) indicates Jesus does not pursue, strive for, or desire (ζητέω) His own glory (δόξα/doxa). This stands in stark contrast to the religious leaders who "loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God" (12:43, cf. 5:44).
