Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; Paul continues his argument about sonship and inheritance with a new illustration. "The heir" (ho klēronomos, ὁ κληρονόμος) legally owns the inheritance, but "as long as he is a child" (eph' hoson chronon nēpios estin)—during minority, childhood.
