And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi—Moses' altar commemorates victory through worship. The name יְהוָה נִסִּי (YHWH-Nissi, 'The LORD is my banner') proclaims that God Himself is Israel's standard/ensign under which they fought.
