Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee (עַל־כֵּן אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ לֵאמֹר שָׁלֹשׁ עָרִים תַּבְדִּיל לָךְ, al-ken anochi metzavvecha lemor shalosh arim tavdil lach)—badal (separate) means to set apart, consecrate for a specific purpose.
