Verses 1-7: Divine Wisdom and Generous Offerings. The chapter opens with the skilled work of Bezaleel, Aholiab, and other wise-hearted men empowered by God’s wisdom. The people bring abundant offerings for the sanctuary, prompting Moses to command a halt to further contributions as the materials are more than sufficient.
Verses 8-19: The Curtains and Coverings. Detailed descriptions are given of the making and coupling of the ten fine linen curtains with cherubim designs, the eleven goat hair curtains forming the tent, and the protective coverings of rams’ skins dyed red and badgers’ skins.
Verses 20-30: The Boards and Silver Sockets. The construction of the wooden boards of shittim wood for the Tabernacle’s sides is described, including their size, tenons, and the silver sockets that support them.
Verses 31-38: Bars, Gold Overlay, and Hangings. The chapter concludes with the making of the bars to hold the boards together, their gold overlay, the veil with cherubim, the pillars with gold hooks and silver sockets, and the embroidered hanging for the Tabernacle door.
