The psalmist's confidence is not in the absence of enemies but in the presence of the Lord.
The Lord is with me—this simple truth changes everything. We will not be afraid because God's presence guarantees our protection and ultimate victory. What can mere mortals do to us when the Lord of Hosts is on our side? Enemies may surround us, but God surrounds them. Threats may be real, but God's power is greater.
