David asks God for clear direction in the face of enemies and challenges.
In times of opposition and difficulty, we need God's way taught to us clearly and a plain path to walk on. A plain path is level and clear, without hidden obstacles or confusing turns. God knows our enemies—both spiritual and circumstantial—and can lead us on paths where we won't stumble into their traps.
