And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. If verse 4 depicted the elderly, verse 5 completes the generational portrait with children at play. The Hebrew "boys and girls" (yeladim vi-yeladot, יְלָדִים וִילָדוֹת) emphasizes both genders—sons and daughters enjoying carefree childhood.
