"Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart." The Hebrew nachalti edvotekha le'olam (I have inherited/taken as heritage your testimonies forever) uses inheritance language. Nachal means to inherit, possess as property. God's edot (testimonies/statutes) become permanent possession, valued treasure passed to succeeding generations. "For ever" (le'olam) indicates eternal value—this inheritance never depreciates.
