And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.The verb urged (vayiftzar-bo, וַיִּפְצַר־בּוֹ) comes from patsar (פָּצַר), meaning to press, urge strongly, or constrain. This same verb describes Lot "pressing upon" his angelic visitors to lodge with him (Genesis 19:3) and the Shunammite woman urging Elisha to eat (2 Kings 4:8).
