And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Beth-el: and the LORD was with them.The 'house of Joseph' refers to Ephraim and Manasseh, Joseph's two sons adopted by Jacob (Genesis 48:5) and granted full tribal status. Together they formed the most powerful tribal bloc in central Israel.
