Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified (τότε οὖν παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν αὐτοῖς ἵνα σταυρωθῇ/tote oun paredōken auton autois hina staurōthē)—the verb paredōken (delivered, handed over) echoes throughout the passion narrative.
