Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? (הֲתִפֹּל צִפּוֹר עַל־פַּח הָאָרֶץ וּמוֹקֵשׁ אֵין לָהּ)—The Hebrew pach (snare/trap) was a spring-loaded device that caught birds.
